About CBD and other cannabinoids
Cannabis sativa L. is the name of the family of plant species that includes from the Cannabis sativa plant itself (commonly known as Marijuana) to the hemp plant, among others. In particular, these two plants have very different morphology, characteristics and nutritional composition. When we talk about cannabis, we refer to the Marijuana plant.
The main components of the Cannabis plant are cannabinoids. There are more than 120 types of cannabinoids in the plant. They are all similar but have different effects. The three main ones are: THC (delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (cannabidiol) and CBN (cannabinol) are the subject of the most current studies and are commonly referred to as «cannabinoids».

No. The plant extract, as its name suggests, comes from some part of the plant and may contain one or more active ingredients that are present in that localized part of the plant. Subsequently, this extract is processed in the laboratory to extract and purify the ingredients of interest, in our case CBD with a very high degree of purity.

No, since they come from different plants, both belonging to the same family Cannabis sativa L. The hemp plant is taller, thinner and with fewer leaves than the cannabis plant. The oils contain different nutritional composition although CBD is present in both.
